ECCLE iVDR, a set-top box which enables playback of data compatible with TV recording standards entries CEATEC JAPAN

Advanced Communications Co., Ltd. (Headquartered in Numazu, Shizuoka: Yukihiro Yamada as President, CEO) exhibits a set-top box “ECCLE iVDR,” and demonstrates at the event "CEATEC JAPAN" held from October 2 to the 6th in Makuhari Messe.

The ECCLE iVDR is a set top box (STB) equipped with an iVDR slot that enables playback of videos from internet delivery and stream recording. The removable hard disk drive, iVDR has a large capacity of memory and enables storage of old contents longer than conventional hard disk drives. The ECCLE iVDR solved two common concerns of those conventional STBs with built-in HDD and HDD recorder; such concerns as the failure of HDD and complaints regarding the state of “Full HDD”. In case of encountering any failure of HDD, if the user exchanges iVDR immediately, there will be no interruption of operation. Since it is compatible with the content protection technology, “SAFIA,” the ECCLE iVDR enables playback of TV broadcast programs recorded by digital TVs with iV.

At the iVDR hard disk consortium booth of the CEATEC JAPAN venue, demonstration of playback of recorded data stored in iVDR will be held as needed. The iVDR hard disk consortium booth is located in Hall 9, 9A67 of Home and Personal Zone.
