Advanced Communications entries IMC TOKYO 2008

Advanced Communications Co., Ltd. (Headquartered in Numazu, Shizuoka: Yukihiro Yamada as President, CEO) will run a booth and give demonstrations at “IMC TOKYO 2008” from June 11th to 13th in Makuhari Messe.

Advanced Communications focuses on IP network services in Next Generation Network (NGN) and introduces Platform for digital home appliances as a new product. Demonstrations at the booth help you to picture life in three years. Advanced Communications provides various solutions to change conventional TV into a fun?information portal, which even accomplishes shopping on TV. Also, Content Protection and Digital Rights Permission Code which are requisite for the smooth paradigm shift to the digital society will be introduced.

Platform for digital home appliances

iSense (tentative name) is a Platform for digital home appliances. It is a package of modules which receives IP Broadcasting, Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting, BS/CS Digital Broadcasting. In addition, innovative functions required to fully enjoy IPTV services, such as payment system by contactless smart card, or home media network are available.
iSense uses complex broadcasting standards and technologies to apply latest media broadcast functions. Hence, iSense is an ideal package of modules which can be used to achieve smooth, cost-conscious development of desired digital intelligent home appliances.
iSense also can be provided as SDK. It is a software package in which our expertise of IPTV/STB technologies has been utilized. It enables development of diverse information devices, from STB for digital signage to various intelligent home appliances, including TV built-in type module and/or I/F module for PC. Also, it is possible to cover overseas intelligent home appliances.

IPTV Reference Hardware

Advanced Communications introduces an AV Station as a reference model.
Our new-generation Home Server which will be showed in the booth takes in diverse NGN solutions, such as IPTV/STB functions as core feature, and add-on type modules compatible with iVDR - i/O standards.

AV Station compatible with iVDR -i/O Xtreme Standard

iVDR - i/O standard-compatible "Object Card" which possibly contains service software and/or contents linked with IP services will be introduced. This "Object Card" together with next-generation AV Station provides ideal environment at home to receive IP services, focused at separating users and purposes.

STB supporting Digital Terrestrial Content retransmission on IP network

We propose STB supporting various services on NGN and/or Digital Terrestrial Content retransmission on IP network. A demonstration is prepared based on the concept of IP broadcast.

Digital Rights Permission Code: new technology invented by DENTSU INC. in 1997

Digital Rights Permission Code which is approved by IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) is a new technology to achieve needs of both CM content holders and consumers. A demonstration of Digital Rights Permission Code requisite for smooth content distribution is prepared.
