ADCOM Collaborates with Intel
to Port its Powerful Middleware to Intel CE Media Processors
Advanced Communications, K.K. (ADCOM), a leading supplier of Set Top Box middleware, announced that they have entered into a collaboration agreement with Intel Corporation to port its ISDB-T/S platform, for Japanese digital broadcasting, to the Intel Atom processor CE4100.
Intel's system-on-a-chip, the Intel Atom processor CE4100, is designed specifically for consumer electronics devices and offers strong processor performance as well as support for home theatre quality A/V to enable advanced features, applications and services.
Code named DTV-JM, ADCOM's next generation platform will be compliant with the Japanese digital television broadcasting standards ISDB-T/S.? ADCOM plans to release DTV-JM in the Spring of 2011.
With the CE4100 and ADCOM DTV-JM platform, OEMs can cut the time to bring smart TV products to market.
In addition, ADCOM is applying for membership to the Intel Consumer Electronics Network: a community of hardware, software and services providers that helps accelerate the development and time-to-market of Internet-connected CE devices.
